A: Why have you remained standing? Sit down!
لِماذا بَقِيتَ واقِفَاً؟ اِجْلِسْ!
Limādhā baqīta wāqifan? Ijlis!
B: I remained standing because there is no chair in this room!
بَقِيتُ واقِفَاً لِأَنَّهُ لا تُوجَدُ كُرْسِيٌّ في هَذِهِ الغُرْفَةِ
Baqītu wāqifan li-annahu lā tūjadu kursiyyun fī hādhihi al-ghurfati!
A: Why don't you sit on the floor, then, like me?
لِماذا لا تَجْلِسُ إِذاً عَلَى الأَرْضِ، مِثْلِي؟
Limādhā lā tajlisu idhan ʿalā al-arḍi, mithlī?
B: Alright. I will sit on the floor, like you.
حَسَناً. أَجْلِسُ عَلَى الأَرْضِ، مِثْلَكَ
Ḥasanan. Ajlisu ʿalā al-arḍi, mithlaka.
A: Where is the television?
أَيْنَ التِّلْفازُ؟
Ayna at-tilfāzu?
B: It is in the living room.
هُوَ في الصَّالونِ
Huwa fī aṣ-ṣālūni.
A: Where are the children?
أَيْنَ الأَوْلادُ؟
Ayna al-awlādu?
B: They are in the sitting room.
هُمْ في غُرْفَةِ الجُلوسِ
Hum fī ghurfati al-julūsi.
A: Where is your husband?
أَيْنَ زَوْجُكَ؟
Ayna zawjuka?
B: He is in the bathroom.
هُوَ في الحَمَّامِ
Huwa fī al-ḥammāmi.
