A: Where do you live?

Ayna taskunu?

B: I live in the countryside.

أَسْكُنُ في الرِّيفِ

Askunu fī ar-rīfi.

A: And you work in the city, don't you?

وَأَنْتَ تَعْمَلُ في المَدِينَةِ، أَلَيْسَ كَذَلِكَ؟

Wa-anta taʿmalu fī al-madīnati, alaysa kadhālika?

B: Yes.

نَعَمْ

Naʿam.

A: So your workplace is far from your home!

إِذاً مَكانُ عَمَلِكَ بَعِيدٌ عَنْ مَنْزِلِكَ

Idhan makānu ʿamalika baʿīdun ʿan manzilika!

B: Yes.

A: How do you get to your office?

كَيْفَ تَصِلُ إلى مَكْتَبِكَ؟

B: I leave the house early in the morning.

Aghādiru al-manzila mubakkiran fī aṣ-ṣabāḥ.

A: And then what?

B: Then I take a taxi to go to the nearest bus stop.

Thumma ākhudhu tāksī lil-dhahābi ilā aqrabi mawqifi utūbīs.

A: Then I take the bus to get to the city.

A: And after that?

B: And then I go on foot all the way to the office where I work.

A: Do you always go on foot all the way to the office?

هَلْ تَمْشِي دائِماً عَلى الأَقْدامِ حَتَّى المَكْتَبِ؟

B: Yes, sometimes I run to get there on time!
